The 8 hour door...
Our original plan for the weekend was to go to Joshua's parent's lake lot. Due to a poor forecast we decided to stay home and have a relaxing weekend. For some reason we just cannot seem to stay still for one weekend. For quite some time I have wanted a storm door for our front door. A lot of our neighbors have put one up and after walking Dave one night last week we decided we really wanted one, sooner rather than later. So, why not take a couple hours on our free Saturday and pick one up and install it, 8 hours later we accomplished our goal.
We started at 1:00 and went to Menards to look at doors. We love our Menards in the sense that it is one of the biggest ones and is only 5 minutes away, the unfortunate part about the store is that it is really under staffed. By 2:30 we were out of the store and on our way home. The selecting process was probably only 30 minutes, the rest of the time was spent trying to find someone to help us. That may be a little bit of an over exaggeration since we did look at some other things but it sure felt like it took that long to get someone to help us.
Dee met us at our house and we started the door at 3:00. The 3 of us worked hard and a little before 7 my parents showed up and helped with the finishing touches. Sometime a little after 9:00 we finished up. Joshua did an amazing job putting the door up and problem solved us through a couple rough spots. We can check another project from our never ending list.
Sunday, I finally got a chance to re-do our front porch chairs. The before and after are below along with some pictures from the storm door. (sorry if the pictures are not the best, Dee took some on my phone and some are from an ipod, our camera is in Coon Rapids).

No longer green and rust free! They are now brown and stand out a little more against the green siding. Thanks for letting me paint them Jim and Dee! :)

These are some flowers from my mom. I am notorious for killing plants but I have been able to keep them alive and they have actually flourished under my watch. Thanks for getting me some hearty plans mom!

Our almost finished porch. We need to get a table that is actually ours (that one is on loan from my parents) and I want some pillows for our "new" chairs.
