Trees, The Werdiens, Dr. Jason Holle, and Moms...

My goal was to have all 4 of the above be separate posts but as you will see we have been extremely busy the last few weeks and that simply did not happen. So bare with me for this ridiculously long post.

April 21: The previous weekend we purchased all the necessary items to re-landscape our 3 trees. We waited all week and Saturday we opened the garage stepped outside and it instantaneously started raining. So we post-poned our plans for about 2 hours and tried again. There was a small break in the rain, so we started up on 1 of the backyard trees, about 10 minutes in the rain started up again. Being the stubborn people we are, we continued in the rain and finished the tree. The next weekend we finished the other remaining trees in the sunshine.

Finished product. Out tree looks pretty sad here, it has gained some foliage since this picture was taken

Close up of the bricks and new mulch we added (was just a big pile of mulch prior)

April 28: On this Saturday we went to Jordan, MN for the day. We started with some family pictures with Josh's family (the seven of us, including Dave). Pictures of this are yet to come. Dee and Jim then threw Jason a very nice family/friends graduation party complete with walking tacos (despite a sleepless night that involved a safe house and the Burnsville SWAT team).
May 5: Our Cino de Mayo was spent watching Julia Jensen become Julia Werdien. We left our house with what we thought would be plenty of time to make it from Savage to Cottage Grove, however, yet again just as we were about to get the car loaded up, it began to rain, wait not rain, POUR! By the grace of God we made it to the church safely and with 4 minutes to spare, well 19 minutes after we found out that they delayed the wedding 15 minutes to allow people to make it due to the weather conditions. The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was a lot of fun. CONGRATS JULIA AND RICK.

May 11: After 6 years, Jason graduated from pharmacy school from NDSU. On Thursday, after Dave and I went with Dee for her birthday coffee, Jim and Dee picked me up and we headed to Clearwater, MN to pick up Joshua's grandparents and meet Joshua and then the 6 of us headed for Fargo, ND. We met up with Jason and Megan once there. On Friday we started the day with Jason's hooding ceremony followed by a reception and later went to the graduate school ceremony. After the ceremony the 10 of us (Megan's parents joined for the afternoon ceremony and dinner) went to Granite City to celebrate. Today, Jason and Megan started the long drive to New Hampshire where Jason got a job working for CVS. We will miss the both of them but are excited to see what this new adventure brings for them and cannot wait to visit. CONGRATS JASON!

Sorry Jason, hope you don't mind, but this picture is fantastic

May 13: Mother's Day! Today we spent a relaxing day celebrating 2 wonderful ladies, my mom and mom-in-law. Joshua and I spent Saturday night, after getting home from Fargo, mastering the art of creating chocolate covered food items. We ended up with strawberries, pretzels, pineapples and made 2 gift boxes, 1 for each of our moms. Today we went to church and then came back to our house and grilled lunch and spent some quality time outside playing bocce ball in the beautiful weather.

Sorry for the long post! Thanks for hanging in.
